| Cliff Notes Version: I started training in martial arts in 1997 my senior year in high school, and then I began fighting for Cung Le's USH! Fight Team in 1998. For the most part, I played volleyball year round for about 12 years all the way into college, and kickboxing basically fell into my lap because initally I used it as an off-season workout for volleyball. For the most part, I called 411 for Kickboxing in San Jose, and the operator gave me the # to Cung Le's school. I tried one class, and I was hooked. I went religiously everyday. After transfering to SJSU, I started to focus more on my fighting career, winning my first National San Shou title in 2001. Following that win, I went on a rampage and racked up many titles in San Shou on the national and international level, wining the gold and silver respectively in 2003 and 2005 at the World Wushu Games in Asia.
